Crochet Highland Cow Pattern Notes
I grew up with a love for highland cows- even before they became popular as wall art! My great-grandpa migrated a herd of Scottish Highland Cows to a small farm in Idaho, one of the very first herds in the whole West at that time. You can see the evidence of my devotion to a good highland cow crochet pattern with my sitting cow pattern and the Highland Cow snuggler!
This is another pattern in my “squishie” series! I called them that as an ironic nickname, and then it slowly became the official term. They are made with blanket yarn and the body is intentionally understuffed. This makes them adorably squishy! You can see the bear and reindeer squish animals here.
While the Squishy Highland Cow crochet pattern is made to have a squishy body, the head is fully stuffed. The arms and feet are not, however. I found this was the best way to get the cuddly body while keeping the shape that I want.
